About us
Our Journey
The One Love Project evolved from a night-time soup kitchen for the homeless based in a Southend car park. As the number of guests grew, it became clear that a more permanent, private space was needed. A family-run construction company heard about its work and the impact it was making and generously offered the empty Hollybrook site for its HQ, free of charge.
After moving to the current site in 2017, the founders and volunteering team began expanding their services to supply food and more support to a wider group of people in need of help. The One Love Project became a registered charity in 2020.
Our Mission
Improving the quality of life by meeting individual basic needs (food, clothing, and safe, non-judgemental space). Providing and supporting holistic opportunities for recovery and physical well-being, from addiction, poverty and mental health issues via educational and therapeutic approaches.
